    This can be a drive-system problem, a disconnected trolley or a door-mechanics problem. A visible broken spring, heavy door or loose cable changes the diagnosis significantly. Stop repeated opener attempts if the door is not properly balanced.

    Scenario 3: The door opens but reverses when closing

    Safety sensors are high on the troubleshooting list, but the technician should also check track resistance, travel settings and door alignment. A sensor adjustment will not fix a bent track, and a travel adjustment will not fix a physically blocked or crooked door.

    Scenario 4: The remote fails but the wall control works every time

    This narrows the issue toward the remote battery, programming, antenna, receiver or radio communication. The opener motor and mechanical door are probably capable of working, so full opener replacement would be premature without a clear diagnosis.

    Heat-sensitive electronics, motor protection, wiring or excessive mechanical load may be involved. Note the pattern and whether the door becomes harder to move. A technician can evaluate whether the opener is overheating because of an internal fault or because the door is placing abnormal load on the system.
